Kristin's List of the Worst Films of 2008
I don't usually make a list of worst films for each year. In fact, this is the only worst films list I've ever made.
Why was I inspired to make a worst films list in 2008 and not in any other year?
Because it was important to me to call out Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull as a worst film.
Yup. That's the only reason for this list. The other films on the list were also awful. But I see a lot of awful films and don't feel compelled to call out their awfulness.
But Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull should have been good. It had a legacy to uphold. It had creative contributors who have made good movies before. Those creative contributors had had close to two decades to write a script that continued the adventures of Indy et. al. in a manner befitting their predecessors.
And it was Indiana Jones for crying out loud!
Instead, we were promised something epic in the trailer and then ...
Oh, the humanity!
So, here are the worst films of 2008 in alphabetical order (but really, Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is #1):
The Day the Earth Stood Still
Hancock
The Happening
Igor
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
Max Payne
Rachel Getting Married
War, Inc.
